Rescued from the grasps of Loki during The Purge by Meares 4403, the young Akahoya lives indebted to his captain and is an extremely loyal member among his crew. Quiet and reserved, he is intelligent but doesn't always think for himself and waits for Meares' orders before taking action. There is a lonely aura surrounding Akahoya as he has dreams every night about when he had witnessed two of his littermates become taken by Loki, utterly brainwashed and believing there was a future on the other side. They had convinced him to follow, promising strength, power and glory over their mundane, feeble lives. Akahoya's following was soon intervened by Meares, who was too late to reach Akahoya's siblings, but managed to convince Akahoya just in time to follow him instead. "Power is not what you need to rise from your pitiful life; there is something else far more important and I believe you can help me with it," Meares spoke to him. Ever since, Akahoya has been Meares' second-in-command, though that "something" Meares wished for him to help with is a secret held between the two of them. Not even the rest of the crew knows what it is.
