A deeply introverted and cynical individual, Dev keeps to himself and avoids interacting with others much of the time. His expressions are limited to neutral, annoyed, and disgusted. His overall energy is intimidating and unfriendly, enough to keep most from daring to bother him. Dev can be impossible to read or understand, his communication skills are as bland as his expressions. Despite this, those who take the time and effort to get to know him are rewarded with an intensely true and loyal companion. They find that although he appears cold and emotionless, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Within he is thoughtful, sensitive, and deeply passionate. When it comes to his temperament, Dev is surprisingly passive, he would rather walk away than fight in most cases and it can be difficult to truly anger him. However, don’t let this passive behavior fool you, push the right buttons by insulting or threatening those he loves and there will be no mercy. His cool temper will blaze and there is no stopping him until he’s won.

History

Dev’s parents were killed by a horrific monster when he was a very young pup, so he and his older brother, Koto, were raised by their uncle, Willow.

As a pup, Dev was quiet and well-behaved, never speaking a word until he got older. He was introverted and deeply suspicious of anyone new, expressing his distrust by hiding, growling, and biting. Aside from this, he was low maintenance and easy going, a stark contrast to his hyper-active trouble-making brother.

Dev’s teen years were a different story. Pent up tension and frustration that he had silently held back all his life finally broke free in explosive bursts of rage when provoked. This was not the result of problems at home, but in school and society where Dev was forced to not only see but endure the cruelty and prejudice of small minds.

Uncle - the one who raised him, Dev has only vague memory of his parents before they were killed, and thus bonded closely with Willow as his main parental figure. As a pup, Dev hated to be separated from Willow, and only sought attention and comfort from him. Even as an adult, Dev still seeks comfort and affection from Willow when stressed or frustrated.

Cousin - it took much effort and time for Moro to gain Dev’s trust, despite his consistently friendly attempts. Dev was highly empathetic even as a pup, and sensed stress and tension from Willow whenever Moro was around. Not knowing the reason behind those feelings, Dev could only assume that Moro was untrustworthy. Thus it wasn’t until Willow’s own feelings softened towards Moro that Dev finally began to trust and love him as another parental figure, though one that he had significantly less faith and respect for than Willow.
