Liriel wasn't born to the family she was raised in, though she has done everything in her power to not become them. Her parents were a more wealthy family, who chose their adopted daughter based on her appearance and the story of her birth. She grew up understanding that her parents were not good individuals, made more clear when she was discarded by them. She'd birthed a litter of pups out of wedlock with a male she'd loved. She never got to see the pups, and she had been told that they had never taken their first breaths. She sought comfort from her love, only to find that he too had vanished. Grief held her heart in an icy grip for years since, and now she wanders the land helping those who may need her kindness, who may need a warrior or a friend.
