Rare Markings

Each marking has an active and dominant possibility. Dominant means the marking will always pass when bred and can even sometimes change the markings appearance. Active simply means the marking is present. We will show you an example using the marking 'Highlight'.
Active Example: Hl
Dominant Example: HL

Markings each have a marking range, this is where the marking may be used. You will see three frequent colors present on each marking range, and each color has its own purpose. Red, Blue, and Gray.
  • Red means the marking has a demanding requirement. A marking must be present in this range when red is displayed.
  • Blue is an optional placement. This means a marking can show anywhere in the blue range optionally.
  • Gray is illegal placement. Often used when reversal is present, gray indicates the markings illegal range. Markings can not be displayed in these ranges.
Selecting good marking colors?
Be mindful that when selecting your base coat color this will affect the allowance of colors displayed on your Felvargs markings. While disregarding your base coat color we consider the following colors equally as natural as the colors immediately surrounding your chosen base: brown, silver, black, and cream. They are natural throughout, but players should be mindful not to consume their Felvarg in shades that stray too far from their base itself.
Should a player choose to use the 4 natural colors, they should be mindful that no more than 25% of their design is covered by markings not immediately relevant to their base.

This means if your Felvarg is Cream (Cr) 75%+ or more of your Felvarg should be in shades of cream equally.

When placing markings designs should be careful not to replicate another marking. A good example of this is being careful not to place overlay in a way that makes it look like a pinstripe. Each marking has a purpose in our gene string and should hold true to the marking's origin.
Do not color pick, take extreme inspiration or mock from an already uploaded Felvarg without explicit permission from the current owner of the Felvarg in question. While we understand this is common for players who are designing Felvargs of close relation no two Felvargs can be entirely alike.
