Ebony is a gentle giant draped in silks, dried flora, and the scent of damp earth just after heavy rain. Though many find her unsettling at first glance, her stead adorned with antlers, skulls, bones, and carefully preserved remains gathered from the wilds, there is an undeniable warmth to her presence. Travelers who lose their way often speak of lanternlight through the fog and the smell of tea long before they ever see her home. Despite her rather eerie collections, Ebony is extremely and deeply nurturing. She offers wandering souls warm meals, dry bedding, friendly conversation, and safety without ever an expectation of repayment. Many exhausted travelers have found themselves resting beneath bone charms and hanging flowers while Ebony hums softly nearby, tending to her gardens beneath the moonlight. Some believe the ocean speaks to her, others say they’ve seen her treading in the shallows deep in the night. Ebony neither denies nor confirms these rumors.
