Ares is a massive draft Hrosven feared throughout Helvalla for both his brutal strength and unwavering devotion to Nightfall herself. Towering above most with jagged spines running down his back, he is often seen patrolling the slopes of Stormrime Summit where Nightfall has carved her claim into the mountainside. The poisonous spines were gifted to him by Nightfall, enchanted with a deadly venom said to bring even the hardiest of beasts to their knees. Crows endlessly circle above the mountain, and Ares is known for driving them off when they creep too closely. To strangers, Ares is cold, intimidating and dangerously territorial. Few would dare approach him after witnessing the fury he carries into battles fought only for Nightfall. Yet those closest to Nightfall whisper of a far softer side hidden beneath his monstrous appearance. In her presence, the fearsome guardian becomes almost embarrassingly loyal, shadowing her closely like an oversized lap dog desperate for praise. Though terrifying in combat, Ares exists for one purpose above all else. To stand ready should Nightfall ever call upon him, forever loyal as her thorn.
