History

Peryton was born and raised in a network of crystalline caverns. Her father, Alexandrite, was a recluse and lifelong inhabitant of the caves, believing his appearance was frightening and holding little to no trust in the inhabitants of the outside world. Despite Alexandrite's efforts to sway his daughter from traveling beyond the safety of their home, Peryton was a deeply curious pup who was skeptical of her father's claims that outsiders were inherently untrustworthy. Peryton would spend much of her puphood going to and from the cavern, exploring the land around her home and bringing food and treasures back for her father.

Peryton grew up never knowing her mother, and for a while, she was okay with this. However, a series of recurring nightmares unveiled the truth -- through her mysterious mother, Peryton was a descendant of Nightfall, a formidable figure of evil whose dark influence threatened Ulfrheim. Frightened and heartbroken by this discovery, Peryton became self-conscious in the same way as her father, worried that the world would fear her. However, instead of locking herself away, she instead became determined to prove to the world -- and herself -- that she was a benevolent force separate from her dark lineage.

Eventually, while wandering, Peryton would cross paths with another fel named Kaleo. The two, with similarly kind and sensitive natures, struck up a quick friendship. Kaleo would eventually reveal to Peryton that he worked for an organized group called Váttarmenn Váða, which was founded with the intent of putting a stop to the malicious influence of a cult known as the Goldbloods. Though Peryton was unfamiliar with any of this information, she eagerly offered to join their cause, hoping that through this group she could do good deeds for others on a larger scale.
