With the might of the ocean sat in her chest and Nightfall's legacy weighing down her shoulders, Keres was born with the sort of power that could help her mother sink an island into Hongerige. Unfortunately for Nightfall, that was never the life that Keres wanted for herself. She could be a disastrous force of nature, but her temperament is less like the vicious hunger of the waves and more like the quiet contemplation of the sea at rest. Furious at her daughter's refusal to obey her command, Nightfall cursed Keres, deadening her emotions and heightening her naturally melancholy nature. Now she wanders the land in reflection of her actions, regretful and yet detached. Often one will see Keres in the dead of night with spectral animal companions surrounding her, spirits and familiars that she has conjured to keep herself company. She is tied closely to death and decay, collecting skulls of favored familiars that she wears in her braided fur. It's difficult to break through her shell, as she doesn't feel close to others as easily as somefel do, but when you've proven yourself to her, she's devoted, loyal, and thoughtful to your feelings even if hers aren't as strong. Misunderstood due to her lineage, Keres is soft-spoken and gentle, completely the opposite of what one might expect from a daughter of Nightfall. She tries to keep her connection to her mother quiet, knowing that she'll be feared and scorned otherwise. Many that do know of Keres shun her, which only reinforces her isolationist and introverted tendencies. So far, the curse has had hold of her for much of her life...but still she lives in anticipation that one day it will break and fearful even so of the chance that it will be fury that overtakes her.
