Kjartan’s primary job is ferrying Felvargs between the islands of Helvalla and Jormungandr as a trusted guide. When he is not on duty however, he can be found in quiet solitude casting his line into Hongerige. For Kjartan, the ocean is not simply a resource but a sacred beast, one who is vast, unknown, and often reflective of the soul within. He has an unusual talent for locating the perfect fishing spot, even when the most seasoned of fisher fels return empty pawed. After every successful trip, Kjartan leaves behind a humble offering as a gesture of good faith and appreciation. Kjartan does not view fishing as a sport, but more so a conversation with the world beneath the surface. On the outside, Kjartan is soft spoken and friendly. He tends to shy away from attention but his bravery tends to place him in the spotlight. When storms rage and ships go missing, he is always the first to sail out on a rescue mission.
