Personality:
Every moment of Thea`s day is planned with excruciating detail. There is little room for dallying or straying from it, which has made her into quite the perfectionist. Simply skating by on luck alone is not good enough for Thea - she must excel even where she is weakest, and she will throw herself into those efforts.
She suffers with insomnia, but when it finally relents and slumber takes her, she is often found lying atop the latest tome she was gleaning for her studies or political correspondence. Her lack of sleep can make her seem quite melancholic, but her quiet broodiness does not make her unkind.
Most view Thea in much the same light as her mother, which is to say they expect great things from her. The pressure can be, at times, insurmountable for her, especially given she regularly contends with a dark impulse within her that complicates her attempts at keeping up appearances. Although the Hand expressly forbids the use of dark- and blood-based magicks, she finds herself drawn to their alluring power and the ease with which she wields them. She keeps this part of herself hidden from others, practicing it in private under the dream-bound teachings of her true mother, Nightfall.
On a more personal level, Thea bears a sharp - sometimes stinging - wit and is less discerning about her words when around those she cares for. She lowers her defenses for few, but readily opens most of herself to those she trusts implicitly. To find yourself within Thea`s closest inner circle is rare, especially given her propensity for the taboo and the high stakes that come with the wrong party learning of her dabbling.
Beneath her veneer of perfection, she is deeply passionate and creative. Her creativity flows through her by way of painting, though her particular style is quite unnerving to most. The imagery always tends to have something ever so slightly off and unsettling, which only becomes more pronounced the more one looks. She draws her inspiration from her troubled dreams, finding the act of painting what she feels to be cathartic when she usually struggles to express herself to others in any meaningful way or fears retribution in doing so.
Her dedication to the Hand is of top priority to Thea, even as much as she struggles to keep pace with the expectations placed upon her shoulders and the limits of her own abilities. She turns to Freyja for guidance on a regular basis, drawing on her spirituality to give her signs of redemption. Thea is often at odds with her growing list of atrocities, but trusts her faith to lead her in some form toward a path to redemption. Still yet, pinpricks of doubt and logic tend to follow her, poking holes in her piety.

HISTORY
Thea's fate was determined the moment she drew her first breath. Although her true lineage is muddy and obscure to most, she was nonetheless settled into the position of heir to her (perceived) mother's title of Matriarch of Freyja's Hand. Given the title is passed from mother to first-born daughter, Thea inherited the honors by default.
