In a world with many dark corners, Taikuri can see them all. He senses the shadows that looms in the dark and knows from the stories of the past just what they will do with him. He was born with the gift of magic, but fears what the world would do with him if they found out. Tai doesn't want to waste his abilities though, and wants to still be helpful while not letting the secret out that he can perform magic. So instead he has studied hard, coming up with a way to imbue potions with his own magic properties. He claims that they are simple herbal remedies, but their ability to work, seemingly, magic, has earned him a name for himself. There is a potion that he himself takes when he is not crafting, in order to calm the magic within him, in fear that something would give him away. He is careful not to expose himself, afraid that he would be sent to burn if discovered. This has lead him to be quite paranoid, moving his shop constantly from place to place, never settling for too long. Personal questions make him uncomfortable, and he has mastered the craft of turning the tables and getting others to speak about themselves more. He doesn't tend to have close friends, but prefers his life that way. If there is a superstition out there that you have heard of, Tai firmly believes in it. He keeps a pouch of salt on him at all times, avoids ladders and black cats, so on and so forth. He will stop mid conversation if someone even so much as brings up something being a bad omen, and will not calm down until he has settled the score.
