HISTORY
Eden is the daughter of Hel and, just as her mother, the young lady possesses great power. For many years, she believed her mother's mission to be righteous and used her abilities to further the cause.
She is able to craft illusions - often from reading books aloud, but her strengths shine brightest in the work of charm- and curse-writing. This duality made her an incredibly useful resource to have, capable of both protecting their side of the war and posing ample threat to the opponent.
It was not until the more recent events that Eden's worldview began to shift. An assignment drew her out of their camp, gathering intel from Fenrir's own under the guise of a new recruit. She kept most at arm's length, but she found herself taken with one of Fenrir's warriors against her best judgement. He showed her the truth of the war from their side, and she saw the wrongness of it, the needless bloodshed.
Eden thought her feelings for him reciprocated, so much so she eventually revealed her identity. Upon doing so, he seemed intent upon accepting her even despite knowing her identity, but they both knew that they could not exist as they were forever, not with the deep divide between both sides. Even defecting her mother's army, she could not be wholly forgiven for past sins or dissolved of responsibility for some of the lost. They would not understand, they would see only her lineage and misguided motives.
The plan to run away, abandoning the war as a whole, was developed and she was instructed to wait for him at the portal between Helvalla and Ulfrheim. She waited, for hours she waited, and he never appeared.
The moon hung in the sky by the time a messenger appeared with a hastily written letter in tow, spelling out his refusal to join her out of consideration for his standings and reservations about her character. He did not love her, perhaps fancied for a time as a distraction from the battles, but that was not what Eden wished for.
Brokenhearted, she fled to Hearth so that she might shutter her past behind her once and for all. She changed her name to Eden during her travels, hoping that she could eventually fade into obscurity. These days, she is one of the dancers for a brothel, earning enough coin to sustain herself.
